Personal Foul! Purdue Gifts Win to BG
Saturday, 26 September 2015 19:22

Purdue chased Bowling Green all over Ross-Ade stadium today, but in the end, more than 70 yards worth of personal foul calls in the fourth quarter alone allowed the game get away from them.  There is simply no excuse for the quality of product that Morgan Burke is allowing Darrell Hazell to put on the field.  Danny Hope couldn't put a disciplined product on the field, and neither can Hazell.  It's embarrassing to see Purdue at 1-3 (and IU, on the other hand is at 4-0).

Purdue kicked the ball off to start the game and Bowling Green came right down the field and scored.  Purdue, to their credit, was able to keep pace.  But despite an interception on one possession and two turnover-on-downs for our defense, Purdue managed exactly zero points.  In fact, they really generated -7 points.  After getting the interception at 14-14, Purdue drove down to the goal line, and Griggs choked.  Again.  On a 20-yard attempt.  That allowed Bowling Green to go right on down the field, in just under 80 seconds of clock time, to take the lead into the half.

Three personal foul calls against Purdue put them with their back against the goalposts, and despite moving down the field.  Hazell again sent our lame duck kicker for a 32-yard try.  No good.  Again.  30 yards-worth of personal foul calls, and Bowling Green scored the go-ahead touchdown.

In the Cradle Carousel of Quarterbacks, Blough did OK, with his only interception being a meaningless throw on the last play of the game.

Purdue is now 1-3 as they go into a B1G schedule that features three ranked teams (#2 Michigan State is next week, #22 Wisconsin and #17 Northwestern).  The combined records of their Big Ten schedule is 21-5 (at press time).  The only team with a losing record is Nebraska.

With today being "hammer down cancer" day, and that color typically signified by pink, would Purdue please show pink slips to Burke and Hazell?
